"The story of your life is not your life. It is your story."
- John Barth
It is the personal narrative that matters
and not the mere facts of my life.
My life story covers a vast array of incidents
including the positive and negative impact
of my caregivers, teachers, neighbours and even my playmates.
Most importantly however is what I did
with the difficult experiences in my life.
Rather than seeing myself as a victim
I harnessed the transformation effects of the loss,
the abuse and the discrimination to give meaning to my life.
And my struggle continues...
